Spotlight on Christine from Wonderoos

Did you know?

Wonderoos was the world’s first one size pocket nappy, and took the nappy world by storm on release in 2002. Christine first became aware of it as a cloth nappy using parent, and later as a nappy stockist.  In 2013 she purchased the brand and got the new v3 nappy designed and into production. Wonderoos are available to purchase from a number of different UK stockists.

Sunshine

Billy asked Christine “What do you love about May?”

She replied “I love sunshine, getting outdoors, Maypole dancing, being able to dry nappies on the line, seeing butterflies in the garden, and watching the world spring back to life after the long winter months.”

No more leaks!

Billy quizzed Christine “What first got you hooked on real nappies?”

Christine said “My second daughter was a very heavy night wetter, and was regularly out-peeing her disposable nappies.  A couple of people suggested trying washable nappies instead, so I gave it a go and was amazed.  No more night leaks!  After a few weeks I decided to go into cloth nappies full time and did a nappy trial by post with Plush Pants, that was useful and saved me from getting the wrong things.  So when baby 3 came along later that year, we were all set up.”

Huge Bum

Billy asked  “What was the first ever cloth nappy you used?”

Christine reponded “It would have been an old cotton Tots Bots nappy with a Mother-ease wrap and extra boosters.  Huge bum but did the job.  This was back in 2001 so the choices were quite limited then”

Anyone can!

Billy then posed the all important question “How would you encourage someone who is hesitant about using cloth nappies?”

Christine says “If you’re thinking about reusable nappies and feeling unsure, I would suggest you do what I did, and try some!  There are many nappy libraries available now, as well as stockists who offer trials locally and by post, so there’s really no reason not to give it a try.  What do you have to lose?  I was worried about it too, but was convinced to have a go by a busy mum of 4 who had converted onto real nappies with a 17 month toddler and newborn twins!  I figured if she could do it, so could I!”

Snazzy features

Billy is a bit nosy and asked if Christine had any exciting plans for 2014?

Christine replied “This is a very exciting year for us at Earthwise Trading – the Wonderoos v3 nappy which we make has won 4 awards already this year including the Silver for Best Reusable Nappy from Prima Baby, and is attracting lots of new UK and European stockists.  In addition,  all 3 of our retail nappy websites are being rebuilt on a rolling programme through spring and summer which will give them all fresh new looks and lots of snazzy new features!”

Serious bookworm

And finally Billy asked “How do you relax?”

Christine responded “Currently I’m so busy that I am either in work mode, or mummy mode!  I will probably emerge from the current busy spell sometime in June…  It’s hard to fit in a regular hobby at the moment, but I’m a serious bookworm and usually have a book on the go.  Before Christmas I took part in the Aspire Channel Swim, which was a 12 week challenge to swim the 22 mile distance of the English Channel in my local pool.  I’m not sure I’m ready for the choppy seas just yet, but I did manage to complete the challenge and raised several hundred pounds for charity in the process.”

If you didn’t already know Christine wholesales Wonderoo nappies through her company ‘Earthwise Trading’ She also has Plushpants, Terry Nappies, Kittykins and a Reusable san pro site called Earthwise Girls. She is one busy lady!

Wonderoos can be found on Facebook and Twitter and the products are available at a number of UK stockists see here for the list.

Read on to find out about the Great British Cloth Nappy Survey.
We need YOU to help us complete it.

You can also enter the final holiday giveaway from Wonderoos for May Day!

Great British Cloth Nappy Survey

Billy gets lots of people asking him for information on cloth nappies, and while he has lots of experienced retailers to turn to, he wanted to know what YOU thought about cloth to help him continue to spread his fluffy love!

Billy wants to know how much people are really saving by using cloth nappies, (not just what they could be saving), which brands you love, and who and what helped you decide to use cloth nappies. This information will help Billy and the team get some up to date information to continue to ‘share the love’.

What’s in it for you? Well, a warm fuzzy feeling of knowing you are helping us convert more people to reusable nappies, but you know that Billy is a generous fellow, so everyone who completes the survey will get entered into a draw to win one of 10 vouchers to spend at Billy’s organising retailers.

Please share this survey with your friends – the more information we can gather, the more representative the information will be and the better we can improve cloth nappy offerings based on your input and needs. We promise it will only take 5 minutes x

May Day Holiday Giveaway from Wonderoos!

Real Nappy Week may have finished but don’t be sad! Billy isn’t just for one week out of the year!

We are back with one of our supporting retailers to celebrate the May Day Bank Holiday in style! So now all the hunting is done, join us with Wonderoos for the next few days for a chance to win yet again.
May Day has been a traditional day of festivities throughout the centuries.

May Day is most associated with towns and villages celebrating springtime fertility (of the soil, livestock, and people) and revelry with village fetes and community gatherings.

Traditional British May Day rites and celebrations include Morris dancing, crowning a May Queen and celebrations involving a maypole.
Billy fancies a bit of Morris dancing and might drag the girls from Wonderoos out to a lesson! What makes you want to dance? Do your little ones love a boogie? Billy would love to see!

Billy has had such fun hiding this past week and has enjoyed the Real Nappy Week fun so much he really isn’t ready to go home.  He’s decided to stay with Wonderoos over the Bank Holiday. We won’t tell Christine at Wonderoos that its mainly so he can get some sleep as that noisy little sister of his keeps him awake at night crying! ;o)

So kick back and relax this bank holiday with Billy, hopefully spring will be in the air, the sun will shine and we can learn a little about the team behind Wonderoos!

Join us on the facebook page Bank Holiday Monday from 9am to be in with a chance to win one of five of Wonderoos and plantable seed butterflies.

We will be giving away 5 prizes, each prize to consist of a Wonderoos PUL nappy, plus 3 butterfly shaped seeded cards impregnated with seeds beneficial to British bees, butterflies and wildlife.  The winner can request their choice of nappy colour from the current PUL range.
